Muslim quick quips, facts and estimates
Ethnicity and Islam – Who’s who?
Most Americans understand through the media, that Muslims are either Arab or Black (Nation of Islam). What many do not know, is that most Muslims are actually Asians (Oriental). Thing is, the media does not call Muslim-Arabs just ‘Arabs’, they refer to them as ‘Muslims’. Basically, the only time they refer to a black person as a Muslim in the news, is if they belong to a group.
Incidents
Now, think for a moment: When something happens to other groups, whether it be a racial incident or another crime, they do not mention religion – they mention race! Is the media involved in a conspiracy to only mention religion about certain groups? First of all, how is a stranger going to know what religion you are unless you are wearing religious garb? They can only guess. Think of Catholics and Protestants in Ireland. They are both white but they go by religion according to the media. Thing is, in actuality, the Catholics are the Irish and the Protestants are English. This is not mentioned in the media this way. They all call themselves, “Irish”,
I see there are many civil lawsuits and money involved in incidents but there are many other religious people of the book, et. al. in the U.S. that you would never know who they are unless you asked them.
Dress Code Facts
In Turkey (a four-season country and capitol of the Ottoman Empire which controlled Europe for 500 Years), 99% of the population is Muslim. It is hard to find anyone wearing desert garb, which many wear here. They also have less in-fighting in their country.
Taqawwi
Many visitors at my work, have recently been asking more and more questions about Islam. Just today, two employees, who were under wraps, were implicit in not only soliciting information from me as to where I stand but tried at every paragraph to veer the conversation into racism (I’ll explain this later) and why I’m writing.
One important thing one must remember is that as a Muslim, besides the race and ethnicity – we are spirits.
The Kore’an teaches us to fight political correctness!
Remember, when you are conversing with others: Say what is true, even though it may offend them. -Prophet Mohahmed (pbuh).
